Lines are always out the door at this place on weekends. Tried their military latte - was a good "specialty" drink to try but nothing mindblowing. They share the space with Green Street Smoked Meats so you can sit at the benches in green street - drinking coffee at a bbq joint was a first for me

i love love looooved this spot. i'm not sure when this opened but i am sad it took me so long to check it out. super fun vibe, great thoughtful service (and knowledgeable), and tasty baked goods and coffee). ended up hanging out in the stands and enjoying the ambience. we came back with some family visiting town to try the bbq at Green Street Smoked Meats which was delicious as well.

Definitely the best coffee i've tried while in Chicago! I got the Black Camo Latte ($6.65) and my friend got the Military Latte with Oat Milk ($7.40). I'm a huge hojicha fan (roasted green tea) so I really loved the black camo. It had a really nice chocolaty nutty flavor and was the perfect amount of sweetness. Both the espresso and hojicha weren't overpowering so if you like a stronger espresso flavor you may not enjoy it as much. The military latte was a bit disappointing as the matcha didn't seem present at all. It mainly tasted like oat milk and lacked flavor and sweetness. I would definitely recommend the black camo over the military latte but it is personal preference. Service was really quick for how many people were in line, and it's a pretty big space to hangout in. I'd definitely come back again.

Really cute space that's shared with Green Street Meats. I really enjoyed the chai latte and Tokyo style vanilla lattes that we ordered. The vanilla latte Tokyo style had an extra dark and rich dimension I really really enjoyed. Best latte I've had? Maybe! I will definitely be returning for another one. The space is neat: industrial Nashville vibe and plenty of seating. The barista we ordered from was very lovely and helpful as well. Just beware: this place can have some lines and wait depending on when you go!

Line can get pretty long but it moves fast! Got a iced military latte which is essentially a dirty matcha - it was good but didn't taste too much like matcha for me. Love the open space so sit and hang out

Vibe 10/10 Service 10/10 Military Latte 23/10 Got the military latte. Buddy got it iced. Don't think I've ever had a better latte. And I'm no matcha fanboy. It was just so well balanced, beautiful and you can't go wrong. Shares seating with a bbq spot with a vibe, also excellent outdoor seating in an alleyway. Non de script entrance. Must visit if you're in West Loop. Pizza next door too. Go!!!!

Beautifully spacious, this place serves a mean cold brew and iced tea. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a great experience and easy to see why so highly rated.

A super cute coffee shop that we stumbled upon while just wandering around the West Loop area. The barista was super patient and kind in explaining all their drinks and gave great recommendations. The black camo latte was not sweet (as advertised) but you also couldn't taste either the espresso or the tea very much, unfortunately. I'd definitely be back to try the military latte, which it looks like a lot of people also enjoyed!

Wanted to try a new coffee shop and this place was a great find. The atmosphere is great and it still was somewhat busy (but quick) right before their close at 4 pm. Ample seating because they share a space. I ordered the military latte which was a little too matcha-y for me but I will definitely be back to try something else.

One of my favorite coffee shops I've been too!!!! Sawada doubles as a coffee shop and bbq food place. The inside is pretty big, so plently of room to grab a coffee and sit for awhile. There is also a huge bar inside making it a great place to grab a drink. REALLY good coffee and lots of tea options too (Matcha, Chai, ect). Highly recommend stopping in here if you are a coffee shop snob or looking for a more upbeat, fun place to grab a coffee or bit to eat!!
